A native New Mexican, Leah grew up with a deep love of the Southwest. At the urging of a good friend, she moved to Austin in 2001 and has now fully embraced the cowgirl lifestyle.

Leah has an extensive background in customer service, plus event and project management and loves relating to the needs of others. Having worked as a store manager for Starbucks Coffee for 8 years, she learned how to truly listen to and respond to the needs of both her staff and her customers. Not to mention her ability to make a mean cappuccino!

Leah also spent time working in Colorado as a lead team member in the Development Department at one of the largest meditation and yoga retreat centers in North America. Engaging in this work allowed Leah to communicate with donors about what they are passionate about supporting and to form deep relationships with them, an experience that was rich and rewarding. In this capacity she planned and executed large scale fund raising events and related to all the logistics and planning those events entail.

After enjoying her time in the mountains of Colorado for two years, Leah returned to Texas in the fall of 2008. Eager to use the skills and talents she honed while working in the development field, she signed on with The Simplifiers. Having planned her own birthday parties since she was 4 years old, this seemed a natural career choice!

Leah understands that events are more than just cheese & cracker platters with streamers. Planning an event is about creating an unforgettable atmosphere and a truly enjoyable experience for the host and guests. She is excited to hit the ground running as an event planner and would love to plan your next party!

In her free time, Leah loves to go camping in the Texas Hill Country with her fiance, Cameron, a chef at local Cissi’s Market, and her dog Nyxie. She is also busy planning her own wedding for the fall of 2009.
