Time for a guided visualization exercise: How to protect your peace. Especially now, as the holiday season ramps up, calendars get full, emotions run high, and expectations (yours and everyone else’s) can crowd your energy field. If you’re craving calm, clarity, and boundaries that honor your whole self… today’s episode is for you.
So, how does it work? Simple! Let my voice be a guide for you as you focus inward to help you tap into your inner wisdom and Intuition for answers.
Listen and participate in this guided visualization exercise: How to protect your peace during the holidays.
Before we get started, here are a few things that you’ll need to do in order to get the most out of this.
- Create a safe space - no distractions or interruptions
First off, you’ll need to create a safe space where you won’t be distracted or interrupted… and also, keep in mind that during this exercise, you’ll have your eyes closed. So yeah, probably not best to do this one while driving.
Silence your phone notifications… The world can wait for the next few minutes.
Then, get comfortable in a seated position or lying down, if that feels better. You get to decide. As with all visualization and breathing exercises we do together this year, you always get to decide what is best for you… take what you need and release the rest.
Okay, now close your eyes or avert your gaze to the ground.
- Take 3 intentional breaths together with me
Let’s take three intentional, life-affirming breaths.
- Deep breath in through the nose, expand the belly, hold at the top, and then slowly release through the mouth. (Do this three times.)
Now, let your breathing come back to a normal pace, whatever feels right for you.
- Do a body scan and feel your feet
It’s time to do a body scan… Imagine you’re slowly scanning your body from the top of your head… down past your shoulders…Through your arms… to your fingertips… All the way down your torso, hips, legs, and toes.
Notice any sensations — maybe tension, soreness, or calmness.
You don’t have to fix anything. Just notice.
Once you’re at your feet, really take notice of what it feels like to have your feet make contact with the ground. To be firmly rooted down, the safety and security of that sensation. What do your feet feel like right now?
- Time to visualize - How to protect your peace.
I want you to imagine that you are standing at the entrance of a quiet garden. A place that belongs only to you. Your inner sanctuary. Step inside.
As you walk in, notice how peaceful it feels here… the way the air softens… the way your shoulders drop… the way your breath deepens without effort.
In the center of this garden is a small table, and on it sits a glowing orb. This orb represents your peace — your calm, your clarity, your emotional equilibrium.
For a moment, just observe it.
How bright is it today?
How steady?
How protected?
This orb is your inner peace, your energy, your boundaries.
Now, imagine that next to the table lies a small stack of cards. On the card at the top, there is a prompt that reads:
“What is threatening my peace right now?”
Breathe.
You consider the question.
And one thing rises to the surface — maybe a person, a commitment or looming deadline, a mental loop, a holiday expectation, or simply the pressure you’re putting on yourself.
This is the thing you need to address today.
Hold the card in your hand and name it quietly in your mind.
Breathe.
What emotions come up when you say it to yourself?
Does it spark irritation? Anxiety? Guilt?
Do you sense heaviness? Tightness? Exhaustion?
When you think about this thing, what are the top three emotions that show up in your body?
Name them now.
The top 3 emotions it brings up are…
Breathe.
Now, look back at the glowing orb — your peace.
Notice how these emotions affect its brightness or steadiness.
Maybe it flickers a bit.
Maybe it dims.
Just notice how your body responds.
Pause.
Roll your shoulders back.
Sit up a little taller.
Take a deep inhale through the nose… and exhale slowly through the mouth.
Let the emotions flow downward…
down, down, down your body…
and out through your feet into the ground beneath you.
Imagine the earth absorbing them gently, helping you release the tension.
Breathe.
Now ask yourself:
“What is within my control here?
What boundary, shift, or choice could protect my peace?”
It may be small.
It may be something internal — a mindset shift, a new expectation, a different way to respond.
Or it might be external — a limit, a no, a line, a pause.
Name it clearly in your mind.
Say it twice, slowly, so it settles in.
Breathe.
Now imagine taking that insight — that boundary, that shift, that choice — and gently placing it around the glowing orb like a protective ring.
Not a wall.
Not armor.
Just a clear, intentional layer of protection that lets in what nourishes you… and filters out what drains you.
As this protective ring forms, notice what happens to the orb.
Does it brighten?
Does it feel steadier?
Do you feel a little lighter?
This is your peace… guarded, respected, honored.
Breathe.
Take a final moment to look around your inner sanctuary.
Notice the calmness settling into your body.
Notice the clarity you’ve accessed.
Notice the steady glow of the orb — your peace — now protected with intention.
When you’re ready, place your hand gently on top of the orb, as if to say:
“Thank you.”
Thank you for reminding me of what matters.
Thank you for guiding me back to myself.
Thank you for being here, always.
It’s time to gather yourself with a deep, belly-filling breath. And when you’re ready, open your eyes.
--------------
So, how did that feel? What came up for you?
I want you to set a 7-minute timer, grab a pen and paper, and take this time to write down everything you remember from this visualization exercise.
- What wisdom was shared?
- What visual clues did you see?
- What did your higher self look like in the mirror?
- What part of this exercise is sticking MOST in your mind and in your heart, that you can’t seem to shake?
- …and what’s one thing that you can do today (with courage and simplicity) to take action on this vision, in real life?
One final whisper
Protecting your peace is not selfish.
It’s sacred.
When you honor your energy, your boundaries, your capacity — you show up more grounded, more loving, more present… for yourself and for the people you care about.
You don’t have to absorb everything.
You don’t have to attend everything.
You don’t have to carry everything.
You are allowed to choose what deserves space in your mind, in your time, in your calendar, and in your heart.
And the second you honor that choice?
Your peace expands.
Let that notion settle on your spirit today.
I hope this visualization sticks with you the entire week through. Do it again and again if you need clarity or fresh ideas to help your spirit feel refreshed once again… because when you tap into your deep inner knowing, you’re accessing the deep inner wisdom. That electric energy that can be found inside all of us that connects us all together. It knows. You know. We all know if we are brave and we open ourselves to it.
You can do this, I believe in you.
