Time for a guided visualization exercise: How to reset your energy. Because maybe you are halfway through the year and already feeling tired.
Maybe the first half of the year asked a lot of you.
The meetings.
The decisions.
The constant change.
The budget pressure.
The AI conversations.
The team needs.
The invisible emotional labor.
The things you handled that no one else even saw.
Maybe you have been holding it all together for everyone else.
Your team.
Your family.
Your clients.
Your organization.
Your people.
And somewhere along the way, your own energy got pushed to the bottom of the list.
So this episode is an invitation to pause.
Not to perform wellness.
Not to force positivity.
Not to pretend everything is fine.
Just to pause.
To breathe.
To notice what your body knows.
To ask yourself what needs to be restored before you keep going.
Because here’s the truth, dear friend:
You are not a machine.
You are not your calendar.
And you are (certainly) not your inbox.
You are a human being.
And human beings need rest.
They need space.
They need sunlight.
They need breath.
They need permission to begin again.
And so… to kick off the month, today is another guided visualization episode, which we release on the first Tuesday of every month this season. So, how does it work? Simple! Let my voice be a guide for you as you focus inward to help you tap into your inner wisdom and Intuition for answers.
Listen and participate in this guided visualization exercise: How to reset your energy.
Before we get started, here are a few things that you’ll need to do in order to get the most out of this.
1. Create a safe space - no distractions or interruptions
First off, you’ll need to create a safe space where you won’t be distracted or interrupted… and also, keep in mind that during this exercise, you’ll have your eyes closed. So yeah, probably not best to do this one while driving.
Silence your phone notifications… The world can wait for the next few minutes.
Then, get comfortable in a seated position or lying down, if that feels better. You get to decide. As with all visualization and breathing exercises we do together this year, you always get to decide what is best for you… take what you need and release the rest.
Okay, now close your eyes or avert your gaze to the ground.
2. Take 3 intentional breaths together with me
Let’s take three intentional, life-affirming breaths.
- Deep breath in through the nose, expand the belly, hold at the top, and then slowly release through the mouth. (Do this three times.)
Now, let your breathing come back to a normal pace, whatever feels right for you.
3. Do a body scan and feel your feet
It’s time to do a body scan… Imagine you’re slowly scanning your body from the top of your head… down past your shoulders…Through your arms… to your fingertips… All the way down your torso, hips, legs, and toes.
Notice any sensations — maybe tightness, softness, warmth, heaviness.
No judgment.
Nothing to fix.
Just noticing.
Once you’re at your feet, really take notice of what it feels like to have your feet make contact with the ground. To be firmly rooted down, the safety and security of that sensation. What do your feet feel like right now?
4. Time to visualize - How to reset your energy.
Now, with your eyes still closed, I want you to imagine it is early summer. The air is warm, but gentle. The light is soft and golden.
You are standing at the edge of a quiet path, surrounded by trees.
Open.
Safe.
Simple.
You can hear the leaves moving in the breeze.
Maybe birds in the distance.
Maybe the soft hum of summer around you.
There is no rush here.
No deadline.
No one needing you to respond.
No one needing you to decide.
No one needing you to be “on.”
Just this path.
This breath.
This moment.
Begin walking slowly.
With each step, imagine your body releasing a little bit of what it no longer needs to carry.
Release the pressure to be everything to everyone.
Release the belief that rest has to be earned.
Release the idea that you should already have it all figured out.
Release the weight of everyone else’s urgency.
Breathe.
Up ahead, the path opens into a small clearing.
In the center of the clearing, there is a simple wooden bench.
Beside the bench, there is a bowl of water. Take a seat.
Clear.
Still.
Reflective.
Let your shoulders drop.
Let your jaw soften.
Let your hands rest.
You do not have to do anything right now.
You simply get to be here.
Breathe.
Now, gently look into the bowl of water.
As you look into it, the water begins to reflect the first half of your year.
Not every detail.
Just impressions.
Moments.
Feelings.
Signals.
Maybe you see something you accomplished.
Maybe you see something that drained you.
Maybe you see a conversation that stayed with you.
Maybe you see a moment when you were brave.
Maybe you see how much you have been managing behind the scenes.
Just notice.
No judgment.
No scorecard.
No performance review.
Just witness.
Breathe.
Now, silently ask yourself: “What has been taking more energy than I realized?”
Let an answer rise.
Maybe it’s a project.
Maybe it’s uncertainty.
Maybe it’s a relationship.
Maybe it’s trying to prove yourself.
Maybe it’s being available all the time.
Maybe it’s carrying responsibility without enough support.
Whatever comes up, just notice it.
You do not have to solve it right now.
You are simply telling yourself the truth.
Breathe.
Now, gently ask yourself: “What has been giving me energy or joy?”
Let that answer rise, too.
Maybe it’s one person.
Maybe it’s a creative idea.
Maybe it’s a walk outside.
Maybe it’s meaningful work.
Maybe it’s quiet.
Maybe it’s laughter.
Maybe it’s a small moment where you remembered who you are.
Whatever comes up, let yourself receive it.
Because your energy has wisdom.
It tells you what is draining you.
And it tells you what is calling you back to life.
Breathe.
Now, imagine that beside the bench there is a small basket.
This basket is here to hold the energy leaks.
The things that have been quietly draining you.
One by one, begin placing them in the basket.
Overcommitting.
Place it in the basket.
Checking your phone constantly.
Place it in the basket.
Absorbing everyone else’s stress.
Place it in the basket.
Saying yes too quickly.
Place it in the basket.
Trying to make work feel okay for everyone around you while ignoring your own needs.
Place it in the basket.
Believing that if you slow down, everything will fall apart.
Place it in the basket.
You are not blaming yourself.
You are not shaming yourself.
You are simply noticing what has been costing you more than it should.
Breathe.
Now, look at the basket. Notice what it feels like to have those things outside of your body for a moment.
You can see them.
You can name them.
You can choose what happens next.
Because not everything that drains you deserves unlimited access to you.
Breathe.
Now, turn your attention back to the bowl of water. The surface begins to shift.
This time, it shows you the second half of the year.
Not as a packed calendar.
Not as a giant mountain.
Not as a long list of things you have to prove.
It shows you a path.
One step at a time.
One choice at a time.
One breath at a time.
There will be work ahead.
Yes.
There will be decisions.
Yes.
There will be challenges.
Probably.
But there can also be support.
There can be clarity.
There can be moments of ease.
There can be tiny wins.
There can be chances to choose differently.
Breathe.
Now, imagine a soft light above you.
Warm.
Golden.
Steady.
This light gently pours down over the top of your head.
Across your forehead.
Around your eyes.
Across your jaw.
Down your neck.
Across your shoulders.
Letting them lower.
Letting them release.
Letting them remember they were never meant to carry everything.
Breathe.
The light moves down your arms.
Into your hands.
Hands that have held so much.
Typed the emails.
Opened the doors.
Made the notes.
Led the meetings.
Handled the hard things.
Let your hands rest.
Breathe.
The light moves into your chest.
Around your heart.
And here, it pauses.
Let it warm the part of you that has been trying so hard.
The part of you that cares deeply.
The part of you that wants people to be okay.
The part of you that sometimes forgets that you are a person, too.
Let the light remind you:
Your needs matter, too.
Your energy matters, too.
Your wellbeing matters.
Breathe.
Now, let the light move down into your belly.
Your center.
Your inner knowing.
The place that knows when something is too much.
The place that knows when something is right.
The place that knows when you need to pause.
Let your belly soften.
You do not have to brace right now.
You are safe in this moment.
Breathe.
And now, imagine your feet connected to the earth beneath you.
Grounded.
Steady.
Supported.
You are not floating through the rest of the year.
You are rooted.
You can move slowly.
You can move wisely.
You can move with care.
Breathe.
Now, from this grounded place, silently ask yourself: “What do I need more of in this next season?”
Let an answer rise.
Maybe it’s rest.
Maybe it’s focus.
Maybe it’s better boundaries.
Maybe it’s play.
Maybe it’s honest conversations.
Maybe it’s fewer meetings.
Maybe it’s more trust.
Maybe it’s space to think.
Maybe it’s permission to stop performing strength.
Whatever comes up, listen.
Breathe.
Now ask yourself: “What do I need less of?”
Let the answer come.
Maybe less urgency.
Less noise.
Less overexplaining.
Less people-pleasing.
Less pretending.
Less rushing.
Less saying yes when your body already said no.
Less carrying what was never yours to carry.
Let the answer be simple.
Your inner wisdom does not need a 47-slide strategy deck.
Sometimes it speaks in one word.
Rest.
Space.
Truth.
Help.
No.
Enough.
Breathe.
Now, imagine yourself standing up from the bench.
You look toward the path ahead.
But before you take a step, you notice something resting beside you.
A small lantern.
This lantern represents your renewed energy.
Not frantic energy.
Not hustle energy.
Not “let me prove my worth” energy.
Steady energy.
Clear energy.
Human energy.
Pick up the lantern.
Notice how it feels in your hands.
Warm.
Light.
Enough.
You do not need to light the whole path at once.
You only need enough light for the next step.
Breathe.
Now, imagine walking forward with this lantern.
The second half of the year is ahead of you.
But this time, you are not dragging yourself into it.
You are not entering it depleted.
You are not promising to be available for everything.
You are walking with discernment.
You are allowed to protect your energy.
You are allowed to pause before saying yes.
You are allowed to ask, “Is this mine to carry?”
You are allowed to ask, “What matters most?”
You are allowed to ask, “What would make this simpler?”
You are allowed to ask, “What support do I need?”
Breathe.
Now, imagine one small act of restoration you can choose this week.
Not a massive life overhaul.
Not a perfect morning routine.
Just one small act.
Maybe drinking water before coffee.
Maybe taking a 10-minute walk.
Maybe closing your laptop at a realistic time.
Maybe eating lunch away from your desk.
Maybe asking for help.
Maybe letting one thing be good enough.
Maybe sitting outside for five minutes.
Maybe telling the truth about your capacity.
Whatever comes up, trust it.
Simple counts.
Small counts.
Gentle counts.
Breathe.
Now, see yourself doing that one small, simple thing.
Really see it.
Notice where you are.
Notice what it feels like.
Notice how your body responds when you keep a promise to yourself.
Maybe your shoulders soften.
Maybe your breath deepens.
Maybe your mind clears.
Maybe your heart feels a little steadier.
This is what it feels like to come back to yourself.
Not through force.
Not through shame.
But through care.
Breathe.
Now, silently ask yourself: “What is one small way I can reset my energy today?”
Let the answer come.
Maybe it is a word.
Maybe it is an image.
Maybe it is a feeling.
Maybe it is something very practical.
Whatever comes up, trust it.
Your body knows.
Your wisdom knows.
You know.
Breathe.
Now, take one final look around this quiet summer clearing.
Let yourself feel the steadiness of this moment.
You are here.
You are breathing.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to reset.
You are allowed to begin again.
You are allowed to move through the rest of this year like a human being.
Not a machine.
Not a martyr.
Not a nonstop problem-solver.
A human being.
With wisdom.
With limits.
With needs.
With choices.
With strength.
With breath.
Take one slow, grounding breath.
And when you’re ready… gently open your eyes.
--------------
So, how did that feel? What came up for you?
I want you to set a 7-minute timer, grab a pen and paper, and take this time to write down everything you remember from this visualization exercise.
- What has been taking more energy than I realized?
- What has been giving me energy or joy?
- What did I place in the basket?
- What do I need more of right now?
- What do I need less of?
- What is one small way I can reset my energy today?
- What boundary, support, or simple next step would help me feel steadier this week?
Answer as many of these questions as you like… or just focus on one. Whatever brings you the clarity you desire right now, you get to decide.
One final whisper
Low energy is not a character flaw.
It is often a signal.
A signal that you have been carrying too much.
Saying yes too often.
Moving too fast.
Holding too many invisible things.
Trying to lead, help, solve, care, and perform without enough restoration.
And when that happens, you do not need to shame yourself into being stronger.
You need to listen.
You need to simplify.
You need to ask:
- What is draining me?
- What is restoring me?
- What matters most now?
- What can I set down?
- What support do I need?
Because resetting your energy is not about escaping your life.
It is about returning to yourself inside of it.
It is about remembering that you have choices.
You can pause.
You can breathe.
You can ask for help.
You can protect your energy.
You can choose what matters most.
You can take one small step.
That is how you reset your energy. Not by doing more. But by coming back to what is true.
You are allowed to move through this next season one breath at a time.
I hope this visualization sticks with you the entire week through. Do it again and again if you need clarity or fresh ideas to help your spirit feel refreshed once again… because when you tap into your deep inner knowing, you’re accessing the deep inner wisdom.
That electric energy that can be found inside all of us that connects us all together. It knows. You know. We all know if we are brave and we open ourselves to it.
You can do this, I believe in you.
